Un poco de mi profesión
A little about my profession
I am the World Languages Coordinator at Northwest Vista College (NVC) San Antonio,
Texas.  It is the Best place to work.  I also fulfill the following positions;
1. Spanish Instructor (lecture & online courses)
2. Día de muertos event coordinator, a great annual affair for NVC.
3. Tennis coach.
Other courses: An Introduction to Mexican-American Studies - a humanities course I
teach in English. The course focuses on the Cultural, historical, and socioeconomic
aspect of the Four Border States area in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
A cultural development view beginning 12,000 b.C., up until today.

Spanish Lecturer II at the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA).  I am a part-time
lecturer for the Dept of Modern Languages & Literatures.
I created & teach two Beginning Spanish online courses. They are asynchronous
courses, and meet all language course requirements.  The University of Texas San
Antonio was one of the first universities in the UT system to offer foreign language online
courses.  I stumbled into the online courses because I ha
d 9 years of computer
experience with a large telephone company.  Once I began teaching, UTSA wanted
online courses and there I was.  Today we constantly review new educational
technologies that may help make the online courses more efficient, and upgrade the
courses as needed.

On a personal note, UTSA happens to be my alma matter (undergrad & grad).

Finally, I am competitive amateur tennis player.  I compete at the local, state, and
national levels.  I also give private and group lessons, visit my
personal professional tennis web page.
